Some like the 26 hours of daily coverage, others like odd fantasy sports. Yet others like watching grown men with shaved legs wear spandex. Whatever floats your boat or flips your nickle it is worthwhile putting together a team for this Wrath of Le Tour. The cost for this year’s Wrath of Le Tour is free, just like every year.
Friends, family, co-workers, classmates, cycling journalists, and novices are welcome to enjoy the madness that is fantasy cycling. Make a wager with your co-worker or secretly compete with you friends but all is fair in fantasy cycling. Choose teams based on country, crazy name or comprehensive research but whatever you do, be proud of your picks!
The league is set up to be run on super secret sophisticated formulas that only nerds with excel minds can conjure. The Wrath of Le Tour is set up to pick a team and follow at your leisure. Updates will be provided on here at FantasyCyclist.blogspot.com and via @FantasyCyclist!
If you aren’t a fan of cycling, it will not be held against you. This may be the beginning of something big... like buying a bike and matching spandex outfits, or it just might make you more knowledgeable around water cooler or give you some street cred with your Green cycling friends at work. If you are traveling and cannot get your team in before the start contact me and we'll work something out!
THE UNFORTUNATE INCIDENT (DOPERS AND CRASHES):
In cycling it is unfortunate that we have to deal with cases of riders doping or taking performance enhancing drugs. In these cases, once caught the rider is removed from competition and run out of town. In years past we have tried to come up with a unique way to deal with dopers, unfortunately it is not easy so the only conclusion is that you will receive no points from the doping rider. If a positive test occurs for a rider on your team you will NOT be able to replace the rider.
A part of cycling life is crashing and if your rider crashes you will NOT be allowed to choose a replacement rider. You will receive all points earned to the point of the crash.
Disclaimer - added suspense will be included in this year's Wrath of le Tour due to a July packed full of real life. Results and analysis may be a bit delayed this year.
