The 100th edition of the Giro d'Italia did not disappoint. The final week was as entertaining as it gets! There were scandals, attacks and stalemates to keep everyone on the edge of their seats.
On the fantasy cyclist side of the competition there was not much of a challenge.
First place goes to badbeef managed by Andrew Stevens. He took an early lead and never looked back. badbeef stormed out of the gates winning five of the first seven stages. He was on the podium on 18 of the 21 stages and increased his lead on 16 stages. Impressive work from badbeef.
Second goes to Ullrich's Posse managed by Jeff Cook-Lundgren. A solid all around team, Ullrich's Posse only won two stages. He placed second in the final and brought nine riders all the way to Milan.
The final podium spot goes to pink parade managed by Ryan Buus. pink parade had the GC podium and the maglia ciclamino but the rest of the team was a bust. This was enough to sneak onto the podium.
The other end of the competition favors a good looking team that just didn't pan out. The maglia nera goes to But I'm Le Tired managed by Beth Geissler. Maybe But I'm Le Tired will get some rest for le Tour in July!

Today's stage was the thriller we have been waiting for! The beautiful roads of Italy provided some much needed excitement in the last bit of the race. This may just set the stage for road to turn up tomorrow as the riders climb Blockhaus. See a nice teaser here.
