9 years of honor roll

This competition has been in existence since 2007. The genius of Justin Rath was the one to get it up in going. Now moving onto the 10th annual fantasy cycling event here is a look back at the podium and lanterne rouge winners.

Some highlights over the years:
*In 2015, 121 points separated first from third.
*Lizzy Sander won in 2014 after being crowned lanterne rouge in 2013 and 2012.
*Matt Kurke is the most winningest manager on record with two victories.
*A handful of managers have been on the podium multiple times: Matt Kurke (1st x2), Ryan Buus (1st x1, 2nd x1), Charlie Sawyer (2nd x1, 3rd x1), Jeff Cook-Lundgren (2nd x1, 3rd x1), Chris Duffy (2nd x1, 3rd x1)
*Jennie Friedrich has more podium places than the rest of her family.

2016 Wrath of le Tour is live

Many of the best cyclist in the world are starting their trip to Paris on Saturday. This is the deepest field in my my memory. Many contenders have a realistic chance for the win and even more will have a shot at the podium. It is a mountainous affair this year so the power to weight ratio guys are licking their chops. That said, the sprinters will have plenty of flat stages to display their speed and power.

@fantasycyclist will be posting all updates for the league and you can also follow at fantasycyclist.blogspot.com

Submit your teams to fantasycyclist@gmail.com or share via google as soon as possible as the race starts on Saturday. Please pass this along to anyone you feel may be interested. Small rivalry over fantasy cycling is a good conversation topic for the month of July.

If you are traveling, at the cabin, shooting off fireworks or have some other reason not to be able to get your team in immediately that is OK. The competition does not have a hard deadline, but cheating is not looked upon very kindly.

The 2016 Tour de France starts on Saturday, July 2nd. This is exciting.

Rosters are starting to be announced. Endless hours of analyzing and over analyzing have begun. Soon real live daredevil professional cyclists will be earning points for us fantasy cyclists enjoying the spectacle.

Seems like it will be a serene tour of France from this:

I am hoping for some of this minus all the crashes:

Giddy up.
