Wrath of le Tour - Stage 9, 10, & 11 Results

The last three stages have had a bit of everything going on. On stage 9 riders conquered the first true mountain top finish, but a hail storm was the talk of the day. Other talk on the day was Contador getting in the car and the shadow Quintana was casting behind Froome. The rest day is always a day for the press to catch as many riders as possible. Some of the best quotes included Movistar boss Eusebio Unzué claiming that if Sky didn't bring such a strong team Quintana might attack more! Lets hope the 2nd half of le Tour has more uphill mountain attacks than the first weekend.

Stage 9 Podium

Lanterne Rouge

Stage 10 had drama of a different kind. The big breakaway for the day was stacked with classics all stars. The group that came to the line was a who's who of hard man sprinters. Excellent team tactics were on display by the Orica-BikeExchange squad. Peter Sagan is good, but the well played three vs. one tactics were just a bit too much.

Stage 10 Podium
1 - Sagan's Grease Lightning - Alex Hooke - 293
2 - Karpets Mullets - Jeff Cook-Lundgren - 270
3 - Team Lop-side-down - Kelin Dunfee - 240

Stage 11 looked to be another day for the fast men, but the talks of cross winds always makes for a nervous peloton. Skinny mountain climbers and wind don't often mix well. At least one rider seems to lose le Tour on a windy transition stage each year. Most of the top 10 GC riders were within 6 seconds of Froome and his second sneak attack on the field. However, Louis Meintjes and Joaquin Rodriguez Oliver found themselves 1.09 back from the front and now outside the top 10.

The Fantasy competition is just getting good. The top spot has been occupied by Team Lop-side-down managed by Kelin Dunfee since the start. The battle for the podium, however has not been as clear. See the nice line graph below to analyze with your own eyes.
